It’s one of those Monday morning where you know it’s going to be a really good week. The sun in shining, and it’s been that way all weekend here in Wellington, so spirits are up!
Flew out of bed Sunday morning after peering over the edge of my bed which looks over Evans Bay, the next time I would see this I’d be up close, several k’s through a fun run, excellent! Zapped into town to get amongst the yearly Round the Bays fun run where about 12 thousand people took to the closed off streets to run around the beautiful waters edge that surrounds us.

A friend Tim Copeland from SilverStripe tapped me on the shoulder early on so we ran together until the finish line, which was great because he pushed the speed up which helped pump me along. We started sufficiently far back in the pack to spend the whole race passing people, which helps make you fee a little speedy even if you’re not : ) Good to see quite a few people you know around after the run, few quiet high fives and a stretch, and we were onward bound, wicked start to the morning, totally pumped! Nat and her family get amongst this every year, and that kicked me into gear this year, her and Koz were in the Run from the PlanHQ crew, so we were pretty well represented.
We then walked back around the bays through the same route and stopped in at one of the only waterside places to graze Manhattan Lounge and sucked back a fruit salad and juice, could have eaten a small orchard by this time, but it appears not many pads cater for that. We need more waterfront eaty, drinky places.
Spent the rest of the day at Oriental Parade swimming, smacking around a beachball, eating watermelon, and doing the odd backflip off the pontoon just a small swim away. To finish the day Tim Copeland hosted a BBQ with muscles that he caught from the supermarket, and Danielle whipped up a delicious dessert from her cool practical cookbook - Mouthful. (Published last year and featured with Danielle on the Good Morning Show). Home for a quick spa and some zzz’s. Great Weekend.
Looking ahead for the coming week, I’m happy to say that the Fun Forecast is looking good for everybody, and we all seem set to have a really good time. It’s going to be a good one for PlanHQ, I hope you all have fun with your businesses and lives too, why the hell not : )
Note: (Fun Forecast was termed yesterday at the beach by good friend Tom Stokell over at Social marketing organisation HSC Tom Runs the Bikewise Business Battle getting more people biking!
