Got to have a catchup with John key Prime Minister of New Zealand at last weeks Job Summit aimed at dealing with the issue of  there being 80,000 Jobs at risk in New Zealand. Tuesday night we’re filming the finale of the StartUp TV series which has been and continues to be an adventure following and supporting a bunch of kiwi online StartUps, and Patrick Macfie and Nige Lewis have put together a big day and night event along with The Icehouse and The Angel Association. It’s been a big year so far for everyone, and to finish it off we’ve organised a big xmas party on a boat for a lot of little businesses in the community. I’ve got a few companies I’m involved in now, Made From New Zealand, PlanHQ, StartUp, Seamless Experience, The Naked Trainer and Challenge for Change, and a cool crew of people working across them, and we’ve got the other businesses here at the Silicon Welly HQ space: ProjectX Technology, Snipesoft, MarchingCubes.com, YMedia, Rocket Boys, Art Klick and Resonant Concepts, so there’s our little base for the party, we all look forward to sharing the night with the rest of Silicon Welly.

This Tuesday 23 September at 5:15 I’m doing a little presentation and having a discussion on building light weight global businesses at an evening hosted by the New Zealand Institute of Management.

This is going to be super practical and I’m going to use several recent ventures I’m involved with as well as PlanHQ to illustrate. Like a profitable Cycling Community we run in the UK thats already seen 1000 people cycling over 40,000 miles to work over just 8 weeks, Online Health Community the Naked Trainer (See also Gimme20 on the herald) and Cross Media business StartUp Media which is about to release its 3rd magazine to 20,000 businesses with a TV series in late production not far from the air.
